Accessibility

The target

We build this site, and client sites, toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We do not use accessibility overlay widgets. They interfere with assistive technology and hide the problems they claim to fix.

What we've checked on this site

• Every page and control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
• A skip link to the main content on every page
• Landmarks, heading order, form labels, and image alternative text reviewed by hand
• Text and interactive elements meet the 4.5:1 and 3:1 contrast minimums against their backgrounds
• Layouts hold at 200% zoom and on a 320-pixel-wide screen without horizontal scrolling

Known gaps

We have not yet run a full screen-reader pass on every page with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. That is scheduled as part of ordinary maintenance. If you find something before we do, we'd rather hear about it than have it sit.
